The Bunker Shot Theoretically, the bunker shot is the easiest shot in golf. It is the only shot when we do not try to hit the ball.
The way to set up for a green-side bunker shot is similar to a pitch shot, with these differences:
* At address, be sure the clubface is slightly open and do not sole the club.
* Play the ball off your front heel, and work your feet into the sand.
* Focus on a spot in the sand two inches behind the ball.
* Keep your weight on your forward leg, hit your spot and accelerate through the ball to a balanced finish over your front leg.
* Swing slightly longer due to the fact that you are hitting the sand and not the ball.
Get the address position correct, keep the weight forward, the hands slightly ahead of the ball, clubface slightly open and then smoothly accelerate the club through to a balanced finish over your front leg.
